Handy works...

Some locks are not often use, it just use only from time to time. I found that in my house the locks to the bathrooms are the most frequent used thus the wear and tear are more than the other locks. At time because of the many usages it got jammed and one had to go and look for the keys to open it. So as not to get locked in by one's bathroom it is always wise to check whether the lock need replacement. My spouse told me that one of our bathroom's door got jammed from inside and it take awhile for her to open it. I told her that it looks like I had to get both the locks of the two bathrooms replaced. So last week I went and bought two sets of a new one. Since I could easily fixed it I decided to do it myself. I decided to start working on the bathroom door of the main bedroom first. It took awhile to fixed one door because I have not done it for some times, since replacing a door lock doesn't happen always. Anyway with the try and error I got it done perfect. I would get the other door fixed the next day. This time with the experiences of fixing the first door, work on the other door could be easily done.

Actually I love and enjoy doing handy works around the house. To me if others could do it I too can do. So after my retirement I bought all the necessary tools for doing the this in that around the house and now do most of the handy works in the house. It fun really.

Have a nice day

Ikan Singgang....

Ikan Singgang is  one traditional Malay dish that is simple to do. Yet it is not only delicious but nutritious as well. Its one dish that you can find in the Malay world, perhaps call by other names, nevertheless it is still Ikan Singgang. It is the creation of our ancestors where fish have always been their main protein source; sort of the wisdom of the old. A wise creation indeed and because of it we still kept enjoying it  I have always love Ikan Singgang especially when Ikan Aya [Tuna fish] is use but it always taste as good even with other fish like Tenggiri or Kerisi. When making this simple dish one herb/spice that is a must is Lengkuas [Galangal] for without it the Singgang is not complete. The above image of Ikan Singgang is made with Ikan Tenggiri. Delicious as usual. Taken with steamy white rice and Budu [Anchovies sauce] or Sambal Belacan [Shrimp sauce] it is heaven already.  I posted that image on Facebook and below are two informative comments made there by two of

The Sunrise at Teluk Cempedak...

We were in Kuantan for a short holiday. As usual I always take the time to watch the sunrise at Teluk Cempedak; a beach that I call my own. I grew up playing on that sandy beach from the age of seven years old and I felt in love with the sea. So going to that beach is a ritual that I never missed to do whenever I am in Kuantan.  Early that Saturday morning of September 3, 2016 I woke early and with my nephew driving we left for the beach at around 6.30am. According to the data I had the sun would rise at Teluk Cempedak at 7.01am that morning. When we arrived at the beach there were already others there waiting for the sun to rise. I had brought my latest camera the Canon EOS M10 with me. It is a Mirrorless camera, the new new generation of the DSLR. It is much smaller than the DSLR and have interchangeable lens. As soon as I got there I walk along the beach and enjoy the freshness of the morning air. Yonder at the horizon I could see some light as the the sun makes it
