Woke up to a beautiful Sunday. It is the last Sunday of June 2020. I thought that for now I would just talk about photography. I got my first camera in 1971 when working in Malacca. It was a Canon that use film. So most of the pictures that I took by myself starts from that year. Before that all the photos that are in my collection was taken by friends or professional photographer or at the Studio. So that is how I got to liking for photography. When I retired some thirty years ago and with some extra money I bought the first digital camera and then progress to the DSLR. With the Digital photography taking photos went up to another level when there was no need to process the film and only then one could get to see the photos. With digital photography one could see the result in mere instance. After a few years I upgrade to the Mirrorless camera which is lighter and less bulky compare to the DSLR and the photos are as good and in fact better. As the years goes on the Smartphone ...

Since February and the Covid 19 happening it has been raining in the afternoon and the sky is often cloudy and the moon could not be sighted. I have been trying to get a shot of the moon but so far to no avail but last evening May 3, 2020 while at the kitchen to clean some utensils I heard the phone ring. By the time I got to the phone it stop ringing and I missed the call. I look at the number on my cellphone and saw a number that I had not registered. To avoid span or unwanted call I seldom call back any number that had not been registered on my phone. But this time I thought that I should call back and it was answered by a familiar voice; it Mrs Chan the neighbour. She told me that this is her personal cellphone number. In the past we always communicate by the fixed line phone. Anyway she say she wanted to tell me that a Brunch cutter that she thought belong to me is left hanging near the telephone pole in front of her house  It may get lost if not taken back into the house. ...

I was in Kuantan last week. It sort of a Balik Kampong [return to hometown] retreat for me. Kuantan being my hometown I always go back there to relived my childhood as well the days of my youth. On the second day of my stay there which was a Saturday I decided to go to the nearest mosque to perform my Magrib prayer. After the Magrib prayer at the Masjid Negeri in Kuantan as I walk outside the mosque I saw this crescent moon in the night sky. I did not have my camera with me at that time so did not take any picture. Later on just before having dinner in town I again saw the moon. This time I use my Smartphone camera and snap the above image and sharing it here. Mashallah!.  Have a nice day.

Last Monday June 24 we went to Kuantan for a short retreat at my hometown. The next day I decided to go to the beach to do some photography of the rising sun, a sort of a ritual whenever I am in Kuantan. I went early to the Teluk Cempedak beach on the morning of June 25, 2019 to wait for the sunrise. Being a weekdays there were not that many people at the beach. The weather was good but at the horizon there was cloudy making it difficult to see the rising sun. While taking some photos my nephew took this image of me; the Photo of the Photographer which is quite rare.  Have a nice day.

Last Sunday February 4, 2018 I bought a new cell phone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Prime and now toying with it. It technology is much advanced than the one I had used before. Above is an image that I snap at random using the phone.  I just snap and posted it here. I did not even edit it. So, to me it a good camera from a cell phone. As seen in this image it does capture beautifully the scene of what I saw as I sat at the Serambi enjoying my tea this afternoon.  Have a nice day.  .

Spices is part of our cooking culture. Never a day we are without it in our cooking, it always there in the kitchen. A Malay kitchen is never complete without the various spices in its larder. Always ready to be used in the cooking especially the creation of a good Curry. I  love the smell of spices thus I also use it to give a spicy smell to my dinning area or the other part of the house. Above is a concoction of spices that I had put in a container to enhances the environment of my Serambi or Patio.  It does provides an aroma of its own to  my little space on the front of the house.
