The 15th Day Ramadan Moon...

Alhamdullilah we have reached the fifteen day of fasting during the month of Ramadan this year. For the whole of Ramadan Muslim all over the world went on a spiritual journey by fasting for the whole month. I believe we all are enjoying the wisdom of fasting. Tonight after the Isya and the Tarawih prayers I went out to watch the sky and saw a full moon which is the 15th day of Ramadan this year. With my Canon EOS camera fitted with the 200 mm lens I snap a few shots of the full moon and above is the image of the moon on the evening of May 8, 2020 at 9.41 pm.  Majestic indeed.    Have a nice day.

The Moon of Ramadan...

Since February and the Covid 19 happening it has been raining in the afternoon and the sky is often cloudy and the moon could not be sighted. I have been trying to get a shot of the moon but so far to no avail but last evening May 3, 2020 while at the kitchen to clean some utensils I heard the phone ring. By the time I got to the phone it stop ringing and I missed the call. I look at the number on my cellphone and saw a number that I had not registered. To avoid span or unwanted call I seldom call back any number that had not been registered on my phone. But this time I thought that I should call back and it was answered by a familiar voice; it Mrs Chan the neighbour. She told me that this is her personal cellphone number. In the past we always communicate by the fixed line phone. Anyway she say she wanted to tell me that a Brunch cutter that she thought belong to me is left hanging near the telephone pole in front of her house  It may get lost if not taken back into the house. ...

At the Wet Market.....

Today is the second day of Fasting during the month of Ramadan. This morning I got the driver to go to the Datuk Keramat Wet Market to get the Fish and Seafood as well Chicken and Meat. Normally I would go with him but because of the CMO only one person allows to be in the car  as been ordered by the government. Last week the Wet-market was closed because the Wholesale at Selayang was closed for cleaning, part of containing the spread of the Covid 19 virus. Today being a Saturday it was packed with folks trying to buy for the use during the Ramadan. He managed to get whatever I had written on the list except fresh meat. When he got home with the goods I had first to get rid of all plastic bags so as to avoid any containment or infected and put it in another containers before taking it to the kitchen for cleaning. It sort of a new normal during the period of Covid 19 CMO in the country. After cleaning I help my spouse to packed it in batches and put it all in t...

Ramadan 2020...

Alhamdulliah Ramadan or the Fasting month for Muslim this year start from April 24, 2020. Since the Muslim calendar starts after the Magrib prayer the first day of Ramadan just started after the Magrib prayer just now. As usual during Ramadan folks would do the Tarawih prayer after the Isya prayer at the mosque. This year because of the Covid 19 lock-down the Tarawih prayer is done at home. So with that the fasting month in Malaysia is now on. Folks do enjoy the one month of the spiritual journey during the month of Ramadan. May we all be blessed during the spiritual journey of Ramadan. . Have a nice day.

Of Makan, Makan and Makan...

Today is the 13th day of Syawal and I believe most of us have got over the Rendang and Ketupat overdosed and now back to square one of enjoying our regular meals before the ritual of the Hari Raya Open House starts this weekend. Yesterday being a Sunday we went out and had lunch at Madam Kwan in KLCC. It was indeed one sumptuous meal we have had since after Ramadan. With the Hari Raya Open House everywhere the roads would be jammed with cars of all made, parked in the neighbourhood like an outlets of secondhand car dealers. Then everyone would be overdosed again before the country is back to normal come July!  That folks is the lifestyle of Malaysian; Makan, Makan and Makan! Beautiful indeed!  Have a nice day.

The Sun and the Moon on a Ramadan Sunday...

It the 26th of May 2019. Woke up to a beautiful day with the Sun just rising above the horizon at the back of my house. It a gorgeous day indeed and it a Sunday, giving folks the opportunity to enjoy the weather as they take a walk around the neighbourhood. After feeding the two cats at the Serambi and the fish in the pond I decides to go out of the house to enjoy the fresh air and the sunshine on such a bright and beautiful morning. Looking at the sky in front of my house I had a glimpse of the Moon up above. It the 21st day of the Ramadan's moon. All throughout this months it has been raining off and on and most of the time the sky was cloudy, thus was not possible to see the Moon all the times. So far I managed to see the moon twice this Ramadan month and this morning is the third time. I was delighted to see the Moon this morning and decides to get my camera and take a shot of it before it disappeared behind some clouds. With the camera I venture a bit further and look at ...

The Moon on the 19th day of Ramadan...

From the first day of Ramadan I have been trying to get a good shot of the Ramadan Moon. Most the evening and night the sky was cloudy, thus it was difficult to get a good shot. I did managed to get a good shot of the Ramadan Moon on the fifth day of Ramadan, May 10, 2019. And this morning Friday‎, ‎May‎ ‎24‎, ‎2019 at 9:20 AM I managed to get another good shot, the 19th day of Ramadan. The is the second time I managed to catch the Ramadan moon as most of the days the sky was cloudy. Gorgeous indeed. Enjoy it folks as much as I had enjoyed taking that shot.  Have a nice day.

Ramadan 2019...

T oday I managed to take a shot of the Ramadan Moon. On the left is the image of the moon on the 5th day of .Ramadan taken at 6.30 pm from my home in Ampang Jaya on the outskirt of Kuala Lumpur. Ramadan begin on May 5, 2019 this year and Muslim all  over the world start fasting during the day. It now past 5.35pm on the first day of this year Ramadan. The rains arrived early in the morning thus add to the freshness to the greens around the house. I have always love the rain and felt real good. In our culture the rain is a sign of Rahmat. Alhamdulillah. Nenek was busy all morning getting the Juadah done for today's Iftar or Buka Puasa. Hopefully all in the family who are in the country would be in our home this evening to Buka Puasa together. Alhamdulillah it almost at the end of the second day of fasting and Iftar is in 15 minutes time. Ha the beauty of Ramadan. The spiritual journey when billions of Muslim goes through every year come Ramadan the holy month of th...

Iftar @ Ramadan...

We are now at the beginning of Ramadan. It is a spiritual journey that Muslim all over the world take during the month of Ramadan of the Islamic calendar. During this whole month Muslim would fast during the day and break the fast at Sunset. That moment is call Iftar or Buka Puasa in Malay. Iftar [the breaking of the fast] is done at one's house or at the local mosque. Where families members live nearby like ours the whole families would Buka Puasa at our house. Remember after fasting for the whole day everyone is not in the mood to go out, thus the buffets at the hotel is out of question. So, the best place is at one's house where the atmosphere is relaxing. We really need a relaxing atmosphere to buka puasa and there should be no rush in doing it. The ritual is always the same; when the Azan is heard we break the fast by taking some hot or cold sweet drink and Dates. Then go and perform the Maghrib prayer. Only after that one start to enjoy the first meal of the day. Then af...

Buka Puasa or Breaking of Fast...

During Ramadan to us grandparents the best moment in time is during the Buka Puasa [the time of Breaking the Fast] just after sunset when all the kids and grand kids are around. This year all our grand kids are in the country and were able to break the fast together at our home. To me it was the best moment in time and I did enjoy it. Above is an image of the refreshment ready for the breaking  of the fast.  Have a nice day.
