Just Taking It Easy....

The MCO has been relax and folks could now do whatever they did before the pandemic occurred like go to the park or just jog around the neighborhood for exercise. I decided  to start jogging around the neighborhood again. So this afternoon with a walking stick I  start walking slowly like I normally did and enjoy the walk. It was indeed refreshing. Today I did not seen other people doing that like in the past. Maybe like me they may start doing it one of these days. Last week in the early morning I saw one of my friend already start to do his morning walk. He stop and we chat at a distance to avoid contact, following the Distancing SOP. It looks like this pandemic did change our norms which folks now call the New Normal, like not shaking hands when we meet friends and at the same time wear mask to protect ourselves from  getting infected. Because of the lockdown which the government call the Movement Control Order  or the MCO the country under the leadership of the ...

The Hair Cut...

This morning I had a few things in mind, so after a light breakfast I drive the Honda to get a haircut, not that I had much hair on my head but just a ritual of sort to be just Me. I went in and sat on one of the chair. The usual barber was attending to the only customer next to me. Then a young chap came over coughing. Since he continues coughing I ask him to cover his mouth but he seem not to understand me. The elderly person nearby explain to him in Tamil while the young m an kept coughing. That means he did not understand Malay. It looks like he is another foreigner employed as barber. Since He continues coughing I decided not to have the haircut. That virus could put me into months of misery. I left and went next door to have a TT. l sat down but no one came to take my order so I decided to move out and drive to an aquarium at Jalan Ulu Kelang and bought a new pump for my Fish pond and some feeds for the fish. I then remember there is another Barbershop at the Naan corner. I stop...

Air Hand Dryer...

I believe this air hand dryer in the toilet is not hygienic to use. When you use it to dry your hands everything is blown away and stuck in there including whatever the residue, dirty dirt. Many dirty and wet hands goes in there including someone who just came out of the toilet and use! Yek! Anyone who use after that might get the residue of past and previous users to their hands and that to me is Najis. I have completely stop using it... My two cents. Have a nice day.

The Malay Traditional Medicine...

A young man [42] the son of my late friend Hj. Omar woke up one morning and found the left side of his body paralyzed. He apparently had a stroke. He could not move at all. Went to the hospital and got treatment. He could hardly move around and had to use a walking stick if he need to move at all. One day while attending the Friday prayer at the local mosque a friend who saw him in that sad condition advise him to seek traditional healing from a man. He got the address and went to se ek treatment.  With great difficulty, he was help by his relative into the house of the Dukun and sat down on a chair. The Dukun after enquiringly as to why he came for treatment, start to massage a few parts of his body on the affected side. After the massaging is done the Dukun ask him to stand up. He says he could not do that since he got the stroke. The Dukun insisted and eventually to his surprise he could stand. Then he was asked to walk without the walking-stick. Again, he hesitates but t...

The foods I love...

We all love foods and to me it has to be special for I love home-cooked foods.  From time to time we would go out to our favorite restaurants to enjoy that special food served there. This one I am talking is a Kopitiam call Shyet-Li at the GE Mall at Jalan Ampang. Just a ten minutes drive from our place. The GE Mall is an upmarket mall where there are not that many shops or restaurants. The few restaurants that are there  really served good food that we like. So it became one of the place that we would frequent from time to time to just enjoy restaurant foods.  Above are foods and drinks that I enjoyed  from time to time when we are there.   Have a nice day.

The Healing Power of Water...

Inspired by this book ' The Hidden Messages of Water ' by Marasu Emoto and reflecting on my long journey of life, I am writing this so as to open up our hearts and minds to the power of water in our lives. Water is very important to our survival; seventy percent of our body contain water so it is important to learn more about it and give due respect to it. On this book it all start with a conversation I had with Steven V-I Lee a fellow blogger some years ago. While having breakfast at a restaurant with my spouse and I Steven brought up the subject of this book. He say that I must read it and that he would send a copy to me when he gets back to the UK. When he return to the UK he send me the book and I start reading. As usual with me I analyses the content and after some soul searching I found that what the author Dr. Masaru Emoto say in this book is actually nothing new. The only different is that this doctor did many experiments with water to prove to the scientifi...

Of Old Age and Health....

They say that Health is Wealth. At this age I know it is true indeed. Like folks of my age [I am seventy five plus years old] and above we all can never tell when we would be down with some serious health problem. Like me I was having constant stomach ache and treat it just as a normal pain. With some ointment and patented medicine I get alright and did not worry too much. Then my daughter ask me to do a check-up which I did. After a numbers of checking by the medial professionals I was found to have Gallstone and it had to be removed. So on March 31 this year I went for a surgery and it was removed. Since then I am recuperating well but as yet to be back to normal. After the surgery I lost my appetite and only after almost three months did I gain back my appetite and the sense of taste. I lost 7 kilo of my weight and now had recovered by days. I no longer drive to the city, just kept to the vicinity of the house. Yesterday I found a Blogger's friend through the latest...
