Of Old Age and Health....

They say that Health is Wealth. At this age I know it is true indeed. Like folks of my age [I am seventy five plus years old] and above we all can never tell when we would be down with some serious health problem. Like me I was having constant stomach ache and treat it just as a normal pain. With some ointment and patented medicine I get alright and did not worry too much. Then my daughter ask me to do a check-up which I did. After a numbers of checking by the medial professionals I was found to have Gallstone and it had to be removed. So on March 31 this year I went for a surgery and it was removed. Since then I am recuperating well but as yet to be back to normal. After the surgery I lost my appetite and only after almost three months did I gain back my appetite and the sense of taste. I lost 7 kilo of my weight and now had recovered by days. I no longer drive to the city, just kept to the vicinity of the house. Yesterday I found a Blogger's friend through the latest...

Of Golden age....

Folks, This is from an email I received from a friend who now live in Bali. It is a message full of wisdom. I enjoy reading it and am sharing it here for all to enjoy it as well:- THIS ONE IS SOOOOOOOO TRUE -Old age... I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant. I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging. Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM and sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60 ...

Of Belimbing Buloh...

Belimbing Buloh [Averrhoa bilimbi] is a tropical fruits. It tree grows easily in any soil condition thus folks would just grow this tree near their houses. Since the fruits could not be easily obtained in the marketplace it at time became difficult to get it when one want to use it in a traditional cooking or for the making the Belacan sauce with this fruits. It is a very sour fruits and the tree bears fruits all throughout the years especially during the hot season. So when the tree bears fruits the whole tree would be full of these little green fruits. Because it is very sour and acidic it is not eaten right like one does with other fruits. So folks would use it in Sambal Belacan [Shrimp paste sauce] or in the cooking of the traditional Nasi Dagang curry. In the state of Pahang folks there would turn the fruits into a Sambal Hitam [Black sauce] which could be kept for a long time and use as an appetizer. About is an image of one way of using this sour fruits to add flavor to a ...

Sharing my thoughts....

The reason I blog and use Facebook is that I want to share my thoughts as well exchange ideas and information. I felt that what better things to do at this age [I am now seventy five years old and a grandparent] than to share my experiences and knowledge so that others may benefit from it. In communicating with stranger in the virtual world I tried the way I know best to be nice and non-committed when I share my thoughts. I avoid getting emotional in any subject but there are times when emotion get in the way which to me is not good since we are stranger in the virtual world. When it came to this point I would try to leave the conversation or chat which would not lead anywhere and do anyone any good. So folks please understand that I am here just to help to ease your tension but never expect it more than that. By nature I love to banter on Facebook or in the comment column of Blog since doing that would help to keep my mental faculty healthy. That is why at time I spe...
