Snippet from Facebook #1...

1- February 9, 2019. On this gorgeous Saturday morning after the ritual of feeding the cats, the fish and putting a plate of cut apples and bread into the bird feeder I sat down on my favourite chair and think of rearranging the little Serambi and give it a new looks. After doing it for a while I remember I am yet to have my breakfast so I stop and went to the kitchen, got a cup of Ensure and cold tea and head back to continue my work. After a few try here and there it beginning to take shapes. I then went to the kitchen again to check on the laundry and then to took a shower. Refreshed I decided to go for some Meehoon goreng, a leftover from yesterday, heat it in the Microwave oven and enjoy it at the Serambi....

2-I wanted to throw away this old chair all scratched by the cats Tam and Kenet. It their favourite chair to scratch their nails. While rearranging the Serambi I put it to one side. Then I saw both of them looking for it and went scratching. So now I am keeping it so that they could continue using. He He! Nasib baik Atuk tak buang lagi!.

3- A few years ago I met a retired officer who was working in the same ministry, on meeting me he handed his card and it show a Dr. before his name. Then later on I saw on TV one of my officer retired too written as a Dr. too. How on earth they both became Dr. After retirement since I knew all along their academic qualifications was only SPM. So how lah!

Have a nice day.

Ikan Singgang....

Ikan Singgang is  one traditional Malay dish that is simple to do. Yet it is not only delicious but nutritious as well. Its one dish that you can find in the Malay world, perhaps call by other names, nevertheless it is still Ikan Singgang. It is the creation of our ancestors where fish have always been their main protein source; sort of the wisdom of the old. A wise creation indeed and because of it we still kept enjoying it  I have always love Ikan Singgang especially when Ikan Aya [Tuna fish] is use but it always taste as good even with other fish like Tenggiri or Kerisi. When making this simple dish one herb/spice that is a must is Lengkuas [Galangal] for without it the Singgang is not complete. The above image of Ikan Singgang is made with Ikan Tenggiri. Delicious as usual. Taken with steamy white rice and Budu [Anchovies sauce] or Sambal Belacan [Shrimp sauce] it is heaven already.  I posted that image on Facebook and below are two informative comments made there by two of

The Sunrise at Teluk Cempedak...

We were in Kuantan for a short holiday. As usual I always take the time to watch the sunrise at Teluk Cempedak; a beach that I call my own. I grew up playing on that sandy beach from the age of seven years old and I felt in love with the sea. So going to that beach is a ritual that I never missed to do whenever I am in Kuantan.  Early that Saturday morning of September 3, 2016 I woke early and with my nephew driving we left for the beach at around 6.30am. According to the data I had the sun would rise at Teluk Cempedak at 7.01am that morning. When we arrived at the beach there were already others there waiting for the sun to rise. I had brought my latest camera the Canon EOS M10 with me. It is a Mirrorless camera, the new new generation of the DSLR. It is much smaller than the DSLR and have interchangeable lens. As soon as I got there I walk along the beach and enjoy the freshness of the morning air. Yonder at the horizon I could see some light as the the sun makes it
