The Social Media and me...

A week ago I decided not to do any posting on Facebook since I thoughts that FB is actually beginning to waste my time and energy. Before that I  have totally stopped using Twitter and Instagram. It has the goodness but once you are hooked then I think one have to take stock of what's good and what's not. So far after more than a week I have survived without FB and I am happy with it. I want to be in control of my personal space and no one or institutions are going to take that away from me. At this age I felt that I should be in control of what I want to do and enjoy doing it. Before FB most of us blog and enjoy writing and sharing our thoughts among bloggers and because of FB most have left blogging but not me. I still blog at least once a week and happy with it. I felt the Social Media has the good in it but one should be in control. These media to me are  sort of a cultural subversion to the society of the world by indirectly trying to introduce new Western norms and value to the society which to me is not good. To me Asian value are still the best and we should not change it just for the sake of wanting to be like the west. What is good we take and from my Old-school thinking not all are good. So its best we Asian stick to our Eastern norms and value and still could continue to enjoy life in this ever changing worlds of ours.. My two cents folks.

Have a nice day

Ikan Singgang....

Ikan Singgang is  one traditional Malay dish that is simple to do. Yet it is not only delicious but nutritious as well. Its one dish that you can find in the Malay world, perhaps call by other names, nevertheless it is still Ikan Singgang. It is the creation of our ancestors where fish have always been their main protein source; sort of the wisdom of the old. A wise creation indeed and because of it we still kept enjoying it  I have always love Ikan Singgang especially when Ikan Aya [Tuna fish] is use but it always taste as good even with other fish like Tenggiri or Kerisi. When making this simple dish one herb/spice that is a must is Lengkuas [Galangal] for without it the Singgang is not complete. The above image of Ikan Singgang is made with Ikan Tenggiri. Delicious as usual. Taken with steamy white rice and Budu [Anchovies sauce] or Sambal Belacan [Shrimp sauce] it is heaven already.  I posted that image on Facebook and below are two informative comments made th...

The Sunrise at Teluk Cempedak...

We were in Kuantan for a short holiday. As usual I always take the time to watch the sunrise at Teluk Cempedak; a beach that I call my own. I grew up playing on that sandy beach from the age of seven years old and I felt in love with the sea. So going to that beach is a ritual that I never missed to do whenever I am in Kuantan.  Early that Saturday morning of September 3, 2016 I woke early and with my nephew driving we left for the beach at around 6.30am. According to the data I had the sun would rise at Teluk Cempedak at 7.01am that morning. When we arrived at the beach there were already others there waiting for the sun to rise. I had brought my latest camera the Canon EOS M10 with me. It is a Mirrorless camera, the new new generation of the DSLR. It is much smaller than the DSLR and have interchangeable lens. As soon as I got there I walk along the beach and enjoy the freshness of the morning air. Yonder at the horizon I could see some light as the the sun make...
