The Social Media and me...

A week ago I decided not to do any posting on Facebook since I thoughts that FB is actually beginning to waste my time and energy. Before that I  have totally stopped using Twitter and Instagram. It has the goodness but once you are hooked then I think one have to take stock of what's good and what's not. So far after more than a week I have survived without FB and I am happy with it. I want to be in control of my personal space and no one or institutions are going to take that away from me. At this age I felt that I should be in control of what I want to do and enjoy doing it. Before FB most of us blog and enjoy writing and sharing our thoughts among bloggers and because of FB most have left blogging but not me. I still blog at least once a week and happy with it. I felt the Social Media has the good in it but one should be in control. These media to me are  sort of a cultural subversion to the society of the world by indirectly trying to introduce new Western norms and va...

A healthy living...

Sixty years ago our country was pristine. We could drink the water in the streams and river. The air was clean and no pollution whatsoever. And we all live a healthy life. We still can do that. We can clean our environment if each of us stop using plastic, straw, throw trash into river and use less air condition. We can if we think we can. I am doing that so can you.  At my home in Ampang I have created a little garden where I planted greens to give me that green environment as well a place for small animals to live and enjoy the little green space. It sort of an eco system where we coexist with the other species. The greens not only provides oxygen for us it also provides a safe space for small animals to come and play. Every morning I would put some cut fruits and bread for the animals come to feed. Have a nice day.

Snippet from Facebook #1...

1- February 9, 2019. On this gorgeous Saturday morning after the ritual of feeding the cats, the fish and putting a plate of cut apples and bread into the bird feeder I sat down on my favourite chair and think of rearranging the little Serambi and give it a new looks. After doing it for a while I remember I am yet to have my breakfast so I stop and went to the kitchen, got a cup of Ensure and cold tea and head back to continue my work. After a few try here and there it beginning to take shapes. I then went to the kitchen again to check on the laundry and then to took a shower. Refreshed I decided to go for some Meehoon goreng, a leftover from yesterday, heat it in the Microwave oven and enjoy it at the Serambi.... 2-I wanted to throw away this old chair all scratched by the cats Tam and Kenet. It their favourite chair to scratch their nails. While rearranging the Serambi I put it to one side. Then I saw both of them looking for it and went scratching. So now...

Online Shopping...

Online shopping is already a norm among young Malaysian, but I am not there yet. Our kids and grandkids have been buying goods Online and our house have become the official address for the delivery of such goods. That is because we are always at home, making it easy for the quick delivery of the good bought Online.  I was rather reluctant to buy things Online but seen that the service is good, and things bought are of quality and cheaper than at the stores I decided to join the Online revolution that has taken the country by storm. So last week I did my first purchase at Lazada and in less than a week, that was yesterday I received the good that I had ordered. I bought a watch and found it in good condition and I like what I had bought Online, which is way cheaper than the price sold at the store. Well folks with that I am now part of the cyber revolution especially so in the purchase of goods Online. A grandparent quantum leaped into a culture of today cyberworld, the buying...

A case of the Bad and Good...

This is a true story. It happens just a few days ago in KL; at the traffic light when the light was Red. The cars stop and was waiting for the light to turn Green. In this story I mentioned only three cars; Car A, Car B and Car C, each behind one another. Car A and B driven by women drivers while Car C by a man. Suddenly two guys on a motorcycle smashed the window of the left side of Car B and took the handbag from the left seat. The driver of Car B panic and try to move on b ut the traffic light was still Red; she hit the back of Car A. In the commotion the snatch thief drops the bag and fled. At that moment in time the traffic light turns Green and the cars move on. Car C saw the handbag on the road and took it. Car A move on and only stop at a safe place. In the meantime, Car B Follow Car A and stop as well. Car C also follow and stop to handover the Handbag to the driver of Car B. They then call the Police who arrive in mere minutes and then made a report. The Police advice fo...

Using Grab and Avenue K...

It was a beautiful Monday. I decided to go and Lepak [while the time away] at KLCC. Took the Grab service and in no time I got to the front of the KLCC. It just cost me RM10.00 for the fare and a good chat with the young driver of the Grab Taxi Service. Indeed, a new way of traveling especially in the city, getting from A to been B became so easy and a pleasure by the Grab or Uber taxi service. A new system to beat the traditional taxi service which have not really improved since times. With the services provided by Grab or Uber the traditional taxi service is having a hard time with the competition with Grab and Uber; folk who want a no fuss service getting from A to B. Well folks it the Internet and the technology that made this mode of travel possible. With the Smartphone and an Apps one is ready to go and enjoy the service. On arrival at KLCC I took my time to enjoy the place and then went to look for a place to have lunch but all the pl...

Of Fig Planting in Malaysia...

I have always love to eat cake or biscuits that contain figs and never thought that fig tree could be planted in this country. Of course we have the local fig trees but it just grow wild and most of the time folks in this country never use it for food. But recently when I join a closed group on Facebook that call Malaysia Gardeners I notice that many friends talk and exchange ideas and information on Fig and growing it in their garden. Some kept exchanging variates and give it among friends. On one posting in the group a friend post a box of cutting that he got from a friend from another part of the country and that he has indeed start planting the plants with some success. I post a comment on the posting and jokingly say that I would love to have some cutting. He reply on my personal message that he could send me some if I give him my address. Without much ado I let him have my address and today, this morning I received a small package from the postman.  Delighted with the c...
