The year 2019 and Me...

Folks, the year 2019 is special to me for on August 17 this year I was blessed to be in the eight series. Now as an 80 years old Great Grandpa I may continue to share my thoughts with the world through the Social media. Do keep the peace for only with peace and harmony could we prosper together. May the new year 2020 be a blessing to all. Alhamdullilah. Have a nice day.

Rambling from FB...

1.  In the seventies I was told to take along a youth leader to attend a Commonwealth conference on Youth in Accra, Ghana. This youth leader had never travel overseas. I help to get his passport and teach him all the ropes about going overseas. Years passed and he became someone important in the government and later became a Dato. A few years ago I was invited to attend a function and I saw him there. He just look away when I notice him. I thought he did not recognised me so I went to him but he refused to engaged in a conversation with me. So I moved away. Later on I found his datoship had been withdrawn by the state that conferred him the title. ... Well life is like that! 2.  This is a story Asmah told me the other day. She had gone to KLCC with the grandkids and I stayed at home. She always use a walking stick. On that day she was trying to get into the Lift to get to the parking lot. Pressed the button and the lift's door open. There is a couple with a kid in the lif...

Life like that #1

One of my grand nephew now working at a GLC in Putrajaya give me a lift in his brand new car to Ampang Jaya last year. I saw him grow from baby to now a young millennial. This was the first time I got the opportunity to talk to him as an adult. He was happy with his new job and and now driving his dream car. He say he wanted to move out from his mom's house and rent an apartment in Cyberjaya. I listen and quip from time to time. Well in my mind could he afford to rent an apa rtment I wonder! As we move into 2019 while talking to his mom I ask whether his son has move to live on his own in Cyberjaya. She say when he told her she like me just kept our thoughts to ourselves. She then quip that her son decided not to move out and continue to stay at her home in PJ. I thoughts that was a wise move for I believe he could not afford the expenses. Remember if the rent is RM1500 a month the first month he would have to fork out RM4500 just to move in. That RM4500 is gone for good and the...

A daily chores; Laundry...

It past 4 pm on this Saturday afternoon. Just done the laundry; washing done, and the load are in the Dryer. While waiting for it to dry I am whiling the time at the Serambi reading and Surfing the Net. Outside it looks like it going to rain. I could hear the sound of the distance thunder. The weather is getting cooler and I believe it would rain soon. Near me Tam the mother cat is sleeping on her favourites chair while Kenet is in a Box that I got yesterday for them to play; you know cats love to play in the box. At 10 minutes to 5 pm the load in the Dryer had dried. I took it out and got it folded and put it in the cupboard. The one that need ironing would be send to the Laundry nearby for ironing with the other pieces from past drying. At this age there are only two of us in the house all the time; the kids and grandkids come over only from time only. We do not have maid except the maid from our daughter's house would come to do the heavy cleaning. Other daily chore we did it...

The Door Bell...

This happened a few days ago. The doorbell rang and within seconds it rang again. I never like someone to ring the bell twice in such a short time. I look and it the Newspaper boy coming to collect the payment. [BTW I did not read any newspapers now, it for my spouse who still want to read] Of course I was furious for ringing the bell twice in mere seconds. Anyway, I went to look for the bill and collect my wallet to make the payment. As soon as I get to the gate the Boy ask me DID I HEAR THE BELL! He said he could not hear it; surely, he cannot hear it, he was wearing a padded Helmet. Moreover, the sound is to be heard inside the house and not outside. I was angry at him to expect me to materialize in front of him in mere seconds. I told him that and it takes minutes to get from inside the house to the front gate; it may take five minutes! I told him he should check his watch before pressing the Bell the second time. I just cannot condone such a stupid act. It does spoil my day!...

My Kampong; Kuantan...

Last week I went back to Kuantan and stayed there for three night at my home away from home, the Vistana Hotel. While there I relived my childhood memories, as well visit places like Sungei Lembing, In Sungei lembing was the largest load Tin Mine in the world during the colonial era. There is a museum there now, housed in the once bungalow of the top British administrator of that place. the local call the Tuan Besar. The next day went to Pekan and visit the newly refurbished museum there, the Sultan Abu Bakar Museum. It houses priceless artifact of an era gone by. I like the way the museum is managed and may visit it again in the near future. As usual I went to the Teluk Cempedak beach, a beach that I called my own. I grew up here and always never far away from the beach and the sea. Thus, it has become part of me; I love the salty smell of the sea air as well the sound of the sea bashing the shore endlessly all days and nights. It kept the golden sandy beach clean just like before....

The Neighborhood...

I always take a walk in the afternoon around the neighborhood just to keep me fit. It just a walk and at time I would stop at a friend's house and chat on the roadside or in the house. After a while I would continue my walk. Then would sit a while on the bench at the park nearby before going home. One day while taking a walk around the neighborhood I met a friend Ramlee who always ride a bike. He stops by me on the roadside and we chat. He told me that he just heard that Cikgu Razak of Jalan 2 had passed away. I was shock since the last time I met him was at the Friday Prayer, he looks cheerful. Then he says another of our friend Taib of Jalan 4 is in hospital and another a Dato who at one time head a bank has totally lost his memory. The last time I met the Dato was at a Supermarket nearby. He looks sick with his dear wife holding his hand. He could not really remember me. I wished him well. Some time later at KLCC I met a friend Lokman whose wife  died a year ago.  Over co...

The New Year 2017....

2016 have been a good year for me. I start the year still recuperating from my surgery of August 26, 2015 when I was in coma for a week, where I lost living in the physical world for that week. Anyway, as I had blog earlier I had a good time in the spiritual world during the period of the coma. I blog about the Comatose period here . I came back with a new perspective of the reality of living. I move on and continue to enjoy life as usual and as colorful as ever. And today I have almost healed from that surgery and thanks God for giving me a second chance to continue living. Like blogging I am sharing my thoughts with the world on Facebook and Twitter with the hopes that whatever I share would be useful to others. Perhaps it would help them to continue to have a good life in this beautiful physical world of ours. Live the moment folks for that precious moment would be with us for only a moment in time. Yesterday has gone for good and tomorrow is yet to come The present i...

Using Grab and Avenue K...

It was a beautiful Monday. I decided to go and Lepak [while the time away] at KLCC. Took the Grab service and in no time I got to the front of the KLCC. It just cost me RM10.00 for the fare and a good chat with the young driver of the Grab Taxi Service. Indeed, a new way of traveling especially in the city, getting from A to been B became so easy and a pleasure by the Grab or Uber taxi service. A new system to beat the traditional taxi service which have not really improved since times. With the services provided by Grab or Uber the traditional taxi service is having a hard time with the competition with Grab and Uber; folk who want a no fuss service getting from A to B. Well folks it the Internet and the technology that made this mode of travel possible. With the Smartphone and an Apps one is ready to go and enjoy the service. On arrival at KLCC I took my time to enjoy the place and then went to look for a place to have lunch but all the pl...

New Livingstyle Of Malaysian...

A few days ago I decided to venture a bit, to have a look at the  living habitat of the high income Malaysian at a high-end Condominium at Pandan. I follow X who live there and have a walk from the outside entrance to the apartment on the 20th floor. One can only get in and out of the building using an electronic card. Without it one cannot enter or get out of the building or parked one's car. To get to the apartment X use the electronic card to unlock the  front door at the ground level, the barrier and the lift and to X apartment on the 20th floor. The card that is use for going up must be the same one for going  down otherwise one cannot use the lift to get down or get out of the building. There is a well landscape Garden and an infinity Swimming Pool at the lower level. To get there one had to key in too. It is the same with the gymnasium or whatever place one like to go. There is a Shopping Mall at the lower level and to get there from the apartment one had to...

What A Wonderful Day...

Folks let me relate of a wonderful happening to me at the Datuk Keramat Wet Market  one morning a few weeks ago; my first visit there after six months. The Datuk Keramat Wet Market is a market where I get my supply of Fish, Poultry, Meat and Fresh Vegetable for the last thirty years. Since my immobility because of sickness I was not able to go there. Now that I am back  and a bit healthy my spouse asks me to get a few items at the market and since I still could not drive the car that I to take get the driver to drive me there. At 9.30am on that day I went to the market and on arrival at the market the driver insisted that he follow me along into the market. Well, with him by my sight I straight away went to look for the items to buy and order what I wanted. What surprised me most as I walk along that all the vendors that I had interact in this market at least once in two weeks for all the year before of my immobility, was surprise and happy to see me there; asking why...

Of Birthday...

When I was growing up no one talk about Birthday or Birthday party. Birthday come and go and we just grow older, that's all. Even our parent does not talk about that. As far as I am concern since I did not get to see my Birth Certificate I do not even know my real name as well the real date of my birth as in the Birth certificate. I was call by my nickname Awang and it was only when I went to school at seven years old that I came to know that my real name is not Awang but Idrus and my birthday is August 17, 1939. As for Birthday it was only when I am in secondary school that classmate would mentioned Birthday and Birthday party but as far as I could remember I did not have a Birthday party or Birthday cake, not when my kids and grandkids throw a surprise with cake and present on that special day. Anyway I remember when I was in my youth, friends especially girlfriends would often ask when is my Birthday and that is how I am aware that our Birthday is special and important ...
