Snippet from Fabebook # 4...

1- This morning Wednesday February 27 l drove the Honda Accord to KLCC and back using the elevated highway Ahlek from my house straight to the parking lot of the Suria Mall. That is the furthest I could drive now. It just takes me five minutes one way paying a toll of RM2.50 one way. To and fro cost me just the toll RM5.00. The parking at KLCC is expensive. So just to lepak there may cost me up to RM30.00 a time. It would help if the Ahlek toll is reduced or closed totally. Apa macam !

2- Past 4pm. It drizzling and it hot and humid. Just like sitting on a beach. I like it. It remind me of my beach on the eastcoast of Malaya. My plan is to be in Kuantan in a fortnight time, my ritual of Balik Kampong every three months or so. It would ne lovely to be on the beach watching the sunrise which I did every time I am in Kuantan. At this age returning to my hometown is always in my mind. Trying to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of a small town where I grew up. Nostalgic indeed.

3- It a beautiful Friday morning, the first day of March 2019. As usual on Friday I am just taking the morning easy at the Serambi, for today Muslim goes to the mosque for the Friday Prayer. My kids or the kid's driver would pick me at past 1pm to go to one of the nearby mosque for that prayer. Would be back only after 2pm thus half of the day is gone. If I go out it would be in the afternoon. Well folks it the weekend again so I would just take it easy and enjoy the days. Have fun folks.

4- A touch of Sarawak. I have a collection of the Sarawak pottery which I brought back from my tour of duty of the state in the mid eighties.

5- It past 6pm on a Friday afternoon. The weather is gloomy but less humid. It does not look it going to rain. Anyway it a pleasant day to while the time at the Serambi. After coming back from the Friday prayer and had lunch of home cooked Nasi Lemak I sat with a cup of Coffee and continue reading the new book that I got at Kinokuniya a few days ago. An interesting book indeed. Off and on l have been sitting here for more than three hours reading as well whiling the time away sitting on the comfortable Ikea lazy chair. It an old chair that have been with me for more than fifteen years. Despite the wear and tear it still as comfortable as when l first use it. Now it my favourite chair in the house. It served me well indeed. So folks life is like that!

Have a nice day.

Ikan Singgang....

Ikan Singgang is  one traditional Malay dish that is simple to do. Yet it is not only delicious but nutritious as well. Its one dish that you can find in the Malay world, perhaps call by other names, nevertheless it is still Ikan Singgang. It is the creation of our ancestors where fish have always been their main protein source; sort of the wisdom of the old. A wise creation indeed and because of it we still kept enjoying it  I have always love Ikan Singgang especially when Ikan Aya [Tuna fish] is use but it always taste as good even with other fish like Tenggiri or Kerisi. When making this simple dish one herb/spice that is a must is Lengkuas [Galangal] for without it the Singgang is not complete. The above image of Ikan Singgang is made with Ikan Tenggiri. Delicious as usual. Taken with steamy white rice and Budu [Anchovies sauce] or Sambal Belacan [Shrimp sauce] it is heaven already.  I posted that image on Facebook and below are two informative comments made there by two of

The Sunrise at Teluk Cempedak...

We were in Kuantan for a short holiday. As usual I always take the time to watch the sunrise at Teluk Cempedak; a beach that I call my own. I grew up playing on that sandy beach from the age of seven years old and I felt in love with the sea. So going to that beach is a ritual that I never missed to do whenever I am in Kuantan.  Early that Saturday morning of September 3, 2016 I woke early and with my nephew driving we left for the beach at around 6.30am. According to the data I had the sun would rise at Teluk Cempedak at 7.01am that morning. When we arrived at the beach there were already others there waiting for the sun to rise. I had brought my latest camera the Canon EOS M10 with me. It is a Mirrorless camera, the new new generation of the DSLR. It is much smaller than the DSLR and have interchangeable lens. As soon as I got there I walk along the beach and enjoy the freshness of the morning air. Yonder at the horizon I could see some light as the the sun makes it
