Mimpi indah...

Jam ditepi katil ku menunjuk waktu 3.45 pagi. Lantas ku mengucap Alhamdulillah. Ku bangun dan mengambil Air Sembayang dan melakukan Solat sunat. Lalu berdoa kesyukoran kepada illahi. Ketika saat itu terfikir apa...

My little garden . ..

I love gardening and with the little space that I got in front of my patio I planted many greens including the one that flowers throughout the years.  As they say flowers are the keepers of our Joys.  Indeed they are. I am always happy when looking at these wonderful God's creation. Here are some of the flowers that blooms in my little garden as well those that grows in front of the house. Enjoy it folks much as I had enjoyed growing them.  Have a nice day.

Hoardings

We move to KL in 1972. Bought a house in Ampang Jaya and have live there eversince. During the 51 years without realising we have been hoarding things that are of no use to us.Just imagine you buy things or given by friends which are of use for a given time, like gifts or electrical appliances and souvenir that you like and books that you have read, eventually it gather dust but you keep it anyway. Then overtime you forget about it. Suddenly you realised its been accumulated for 51 years. Not only it occupied space but it became clutters that are unhealthy to live with. I believe I got mentally sick because of it. I then got rids of it all by giving it to friends  or throw many bags as trashed.  Now I  felt real good and as healthy. And happy as well. Alhamdulillah.

The morning walk

This morning just at 9 am I start my morning walk instead of in the  afternoon..the weather was beautiful with clear blue sky. I walk a few metres and stop at the park.  I found  a seat and sat down enjoying the morning sun. It felt really good. I saw a lone bird looking for food, perking at the green grass. Then I saw a pair of Mima bird looking for food. They say this bird paired for life. The morning sun brings all the birds to the ground. A beautiful sight to watch and wonder. Alhamdulillah. A car just parked near the roadside.and a man got out to put his trash into the trashbin. Such a good gesture indeed.

Vegetables

The sun provides all the energy and thus provides all the nutrients for all lives to survive on planet Earth. The only species on the planet that could convert the  energy from the sun is the plant. That is the first source of all the nutrients. So if you eat meats, you are consuming a secondhand source of nutrients (the animals had to eat the plants first in order to get the nutrients). So, dumped all the meats and lived a healthy life by just eating plants. Have  nice day

My first car .

My first car was a Fiat 600, nombor BS 9438. It cost RM4 thousands  (government loans). Bought it in KL on 26.9.1967. Left KL at 3.15pm and drove all the way to JB. Sampai JB jam 10.30 malam.First time ever driven a car that far. I was driving alone to report duty on my new post as District Culture Officer, a division 2 post, a federal service. On 1.10.1967, I was posted as the District Culture Officer at Keluang. Two weeks later I went back to Kuantan and brought back my wife Asmah and the young children to Keluang.  Before this, I was l a clerk, a division 3 post for 9 years in Kuantan. The post of Culture Officer waa changed to Culture , Youth and Sports, Officer,  a division post in the federalservice. Alhamdulillah.

The 15th Ramadan moon...

It was a cool morning so I took a short walk in front of my house. Then I saw the full moon in all its glory. It happens to be the 15th day of Ramadan. I went back to the house and pick up my camera. Then took a few shots. Obove is a gorgeous shot of the moon.  Alhamdulillah.

The Haj, a blessing.

Once, during my 32 years of careers in the government service, I was not promoted, whereas the rest of my colleagues got. It was because of one bad confidential report from my former boss. One must get 3 years consecutively good confidential report to get promoted. In all the years I never got a bad annual confidential report. The KSU (with the approval of the promotion committee)  at that time  knew who gave that bad report sympathise with me, decided to post me to Sarawak on an acting appointment there. So, I just took it easy and worked diligently as usual. After a year or so, when the bad report was cleared. I got a letter saying I was promoted and back dated. With that, I got an arrears of RM10 thousands. At that time, I hardly had any savings, let alone that amount. It cost only RM5 thousand per person to do the haj at that time. With that blessing I decided to perform the Haj with my wife Asmah. It was the blessing that I could afford to do the haj with Asmah. A blessin...

The Cock crows...

When I was growing up in the forties, we did not have such a thing as a watch for each one to wear, let alone for us the kids. I woke up from my sleep in the early morning when I hear the crowing of the cocks. It was a melody that we hear each morning. It vibrates all over the atmosphere of the kampong. Then it faded away perhaps to take a rest after the job is done every morning without failed. With sleepy eyes I walk to the well nearby to bathe. There are other adult from across the road already taking their bath there. 0ur well have clear water whereas the one at Tok Yek's house across the road, the water is colored but clean. So folks prefer to take their bath at our well. Tok Yek the Dukun does not use our well. He preferred his own well. He had constructed a drum filter he had created and use it to clear the brownish water. Tok Yek is a wise man who works at the Senatory board, most of works is keeping the Monsoon drain clean. In his spare time with the knowledge ...

The Garage...

This is my garage, empty. The car, my Honda accord taken for a regular servicing. I love this 2000cc car that I bought in 2005. It hardly used and now just cross the 100 thousands kilometres. I now drive it around the neighbourhood to do some errands.  Car have always been an extentions of myself. But at this age (83 years,) I just cannot drive into the city, so I keep it to just continue my passion of driving. That's better than not driving at all. Back to the story of my garage, wherever we had gathering I would parked the car outside and us it as an added space; I would put a Sarawak Tikar there and on it placed two ikea's tables and four chairs for each table. Voila! the two tables could allow eight guests to sit comfortably to enjoy their meals. Thus that space becomes productive. When one live in or nearby the city every available spaces became useful. That's folks is the way to live in the 21st century.   Have  a nice day.

After PRU15...

After PRU15 (Malaysia General Election, the 15th) my life changed. Enough of politics I turned to Netflix and more reading; at time four books a time. I stop only to do the laundry, get grocery, had meals to sustain my energy and of course enjoying the Roti Canai and Teh tarik at my favourite stall nearby, where occasionally I get to meet friends to exchange notes and enjoy a chat as well. On WhatsApp to chat with friend, as well look at the family's Idrus clan activities to update of the family's happening.  Of course I do the daily choir, helping my dear wife at the kitchen.  So far life have been good, other than it kept me sane. Ha ha!

Beautiful memories...

December is a wet season on the east coast of Malaya. Although it always rains I still love this time of the year. It the time of the year when the weather is cold and we get to wear the sweater. A rather rare scene in a tropical country where the weather is always hot and humid. A bachelor I live at the government quarter near the Kuantan river and work a short distance away at the government office, a huge wooden complex at Jalan Gambut. During this Monsoon period which stretch till the end of January I would carry an umbrella and a raincoat to work. Today in the evening I walk along the road towards the Metropol cinema to go and watch a movie. I am alone. For this period of the month the weather in the evening was considered as good,  only a slight drizzle. On the way I saw an old man pushing a bicycle instead of riding it. Perhaps he has a reason, anyway I just walk and looks at him, thinking he is probably a relative that I seldom see. He did not look at me and kep...

In Sya Allah we would choose to the best candidate to be our representative in the Malaysia Parliament.  Have a nice day

Cashless Payment...

That day while shopping at the Food fair at the GE mall I was introduced to the world of Cashless Payment. I had wanted to purchase an item and the stall selling the item could not accept Cards. Would only accept Cash or Cashless Payment. Here is where my grandson came to the rescue so as to get the purchase done. He used his phone to transact the payment by using the QR code at the stall. Done.(I later reimbursed him with that payment.) Getting home he got me introduced to the Cashless payment system by downloading the Payment App (the QR code) to my phone. Now I am able to purchase Cashless. Ha ha! A grandparents of the 21st century! Have a nice day.

Merdeka day 31.7.1957

This is a traditional dance group of Telecom Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, a contribution in celebrating the Merdeka day on 31.8.1957. Asmah who later became my wife is in the center front in this group photo. She was then just 17 years old. On the same day in Kuantan I participated in the Merdeka day ceremony. the raising of the Malayan flag and the lowering of the Union Jack. At that time I  did know her as yet. I was 18 years old then. Amazing a Sychronicity. Alhamdulillah.  Have a nice day.

Coffee is life...

I was at the Pavilion on Saturday August 6, 2022. This is the first visit since the pandemic. I had other plan for this Saturday morning but had to change it when my spouse say she is going to the Pavilion with daughter Lin and ask me whether I would want to go along. It a surprise and since I had not been to the Pavilion for some times already, I decided to follow them. At past ten in the morning daughter Lin arrived driving the Honda Accord and off we went to the Pavilion. On arrival we decided first to get something to eat at the food court. The.food court looks different since it has been redesigned with a new looks but the familiar stalls that sell foods are all still there. After that Asmah and daughter Lin decided to go shopping on their own.  I decided to go to the bookstore but found that there is not a single bookstore in the Pavilion.  What a shame!. I was rather disappointed and decided to venture on to all the other floors. After a while I went to enjo...
